Student Interest

Greetings! My name is Tiffany Lo and I am the California Student Representative of the California Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (CSCLS) for 2004-2005. My hometown is in Loma Linda, California and I am currently attending the Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) program at Loma Linda University School of Allied Health. CSCLS is a state organization that offers various benefits for CLS professionals and student members. A membership with CSCLS is a great step to beginning your profession as a CLS. CSCLS offers member discounts at annual, regional, and state conventions, various workshop and continuing education seminars. Joining this society provides opportunities to meet and network with other CLS students and professionals, gain more knowledge about the clinical lab, and to build lasting friendships.

To get a taste of CSCLS, there are several workshops and continuing education seminars in 2005 that will allow you to experience the camaraderie of CSCLS members and CLS professionals. The workshops for 2005 will be held in Northern California, Nevada, and Florida and are open to students and offer discounts to members. Members also receive a quarterly journal, Journal of the ASCLS, which reports on current issues in the clinical lab, clinical practices, research, and other topics of laboratory interest. Scholarship eligibility is another benefit for CSCLS student members.

If you are interested in being an advocate for health care and the CLS profession at the state and national levels, there are many representative positions that need to be filled! With all of these opportunities and benefits, this is the perfect approach to launching your new career.
